About Us   Remmer Family Foundation

The Girls’ Coalition is funded by the Remmer Family Foundation, which is designed to support programs that help disadvantaged preadolescent and adolescent girls take charge of their lives. The foundation’s current primary focus is girls’ programs in the Jacksonville area of Florida. In particular, it supports a budding girls’ coalition called the First Coast Girls’ Initiative, which is modeling itself after the Girls’ Coalition of Greater Boston.

Ellen Remmer is the Boston representative of her family foundation; along with her mother and two sisters, she is one of its trustees. She is also a Vice President at The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI). In addition, Ellen is a director of her family's investment company, a director of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, and prior cochair of Greater Boston Funders for Women and Girls

The Remmer family has supported the Girls’ Coalition of Greater Boston since 1997; we are grateful for its ongoing support.
