Angel Santos Burres works at Jumpstart as the director of Read for the Record. Previously, she was the director of Middle School Initiatives at Tech Boston, where she oversaw LEGO robotics and web design programs in the Boston public schools. She also worked as chief technology officer for Citizen Schools. While at Citizen Schools, Ms. Burres provided technology training for approximately 100 volunteers, 600 students, and 25 families. In addition, she managed the internal technology, including databases and website, for a staff of 80 people. Prior to Citizen Schools, Angel ran an after-school center where 350 students used a computerized integrated learning system to build their math, reading, and spelling skills. She has a B.A. in Communications Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a business and administration specialization and a computer programming emphasis.
