The Girls' Coalition On-Line Resource Directory is a one-of-its-kind resource guide for girls and the adults who support girls. There are more than 560 resources listed in the directory.  The nine main sections are described below.  Programs can be searched alphabetically by name, by geographic area served, and by topic (specialized areas of focus such as arts, health, or sports and recreation).

1 and 2. Programs--Girls Only and Coed--after-school, in-school, and summer programs; most have a weekly schedule of activities focused on one or more areas (e.g., sports, arts, science).

3 and 4. Services--Girls Only and Coed--organizations that provide a specific service for youth such as counseling, health care, family planning, career planning, child care for teen moms.

5 and 6. Advocacy--Girls Only and Coed--individuals and organizations involved in educating the public and/or doing advocacy work (e.g., legal assistance, public policy) around issues affecting girls in particular or youth in general. Subcategories are:

a) Professional Development--trainings, workshops, and conferences for adults working with youth

b) Peer Education--trainings and education and advocacy efforts led by youth for youth

7. Education--girls’ only K-12 schools, women’s only colleges, and women's and gender studies programs, in New England.

8.  Funders--organizations that explicitly identify supporting girls and young women as part of their mission and/or organizations with a specific interest in or history of funding girls-only programs and/or “gender-sensitive” coed programs. 

9.  Professional Development--academic and community people (i.e. researchers and practitioners) who have expertise on a variety of topics and who are available to provide keynotes, research, and/or consultation to your program.

10. Other Girls’ Coalitions--coalitions in other cities serving girls and their adult advocates.
